DARLING WIFE

Wife of corrupt Police officer Angelo ‘Trigger’ Tombs. Shamed after years of enabling her husband’s crimes, Olivia approached Officer Frank Kent with incriminating information regarding Angelo’s illicit dealings in underage prostitution. A deal was made in exchange for protection and a new life for Olivia and her unborn child. On 10 April 1920, Angelo and Olivia were both arrested outside their Darlinghurst home. Officer Kent blatantly denied any involvement with Olivia in spite of her adamantly pleading their arrangement. Olivia was finally ‘coerced’ into a confession and charged with promoting prostitution and aiding and abetting a criminal. She was sentenced to Long Bay with parole pending but was brutally glassed by an inmate. Her child was never born.

Olivia Stambouliah, 10 April 1920, Darlinghurst Police Station.
