BETWIXT (THE BLACK SHOW) - BOOK
BETWIXT (THE BLACK SHOW) - BOOK
Betwixt (The Black Show) is a portrait series of ten actors in over twenty-two cinematic stills, suspended in the throes of powerful emotions, exploring a contemporary contemplation of the human capacity to bear pain, hardship and death. The first photographic exhibition to be held in the Richard Wherrett Studio at the Roslyn Packer Theatre and presented by the Sydney Theatre Company. Betwixt (The Black Show) is an exploration of the body in transition. The memory of trauma is observed through temporal states and gestural reflections of our true self. A collection of emotional ebbs and flows are etched into our minds, but what about the ordinary moments that go unnoticed? How often do we stop and review these moments? What if you could make still these fragments and feel them; stare at them; observe them; observe yourself?
